In front of a packed Bislett, Alison Dos Santos beat the crowds favourite Karsten Warholm. The Brazilian now travels to Stockholm, where he hopes for even faster times.<\/p>\n
The Norwegians were excited to see their hurdler king have a first duel against one of their main opponents for the Olympic gold. Into the race they were even and they cut the last hedge at the same time. But, after a small fall at Warholm, the duel in the 400m hurdles ended with Brazilian victory. Alison Dos Santos won in the new world annual best of 46.63.<\/p>\n
– It was important for self-confidence. To come out here, win in a good time and beat Karsten. It shows that we are on the right track, we are on the way to getting better, he says after the race.<\/p>\n
Alison Dos Santos won the World Championships in 2022 and has set the third best time of all time. After having a heavier 2023, this year’s season has started all the better. Before the upcoming Olympics, he sees himself as the favorite for the gold.<\/p>\n
– I am the favourite, but there will be something really good there. Me, Karsten and Rai Benjamin (second all time) are all in very good shape.<\/p>\n
On Sunday, he competes in Stockholm again, a city he likes.<\/p>\n
– I love Stockholm, it’s a very nice city. I have a good feeling and I always run well over there, he says and continues.<\/p>\n
