Andreas Almgren, who runs for one of the organising clubs, Turebergs FK, is this year\u2019s brightest shooting star on the Swedish men\u2019s side. The 1:45.65 he clocked at the World Junior final is a Swedish junior 800m record and places him second on the senior national all-time list. At the weekend he won his first gold medal as a senior when he won the 800m final at the Swedish Championships in Ume\u00e5. DN Galan will be Andreas\u2019 Diamond League debut:

DN Galan has signed up the two fastest 800m runners in the world this year. The 20-year-old Botswanan, Nijel Amos, tops the world\u2019s list with 1:42.45, which he ran in Monaco when he beat Pierre-Ambroise Bosse from France, whose 1:42.53 from the same race placed him second on the list<\/p>\n
Everything seems in place for an exceptionally fast race on the classic Stockholm Stadium track which has witnessed many fast times in its history. The stadium 800m record of 1:41.73 from DN Galan 1997 belongs to Wilson Kipketer, which at the time equalled the world record and is still one of the 10 fastest times over the distance.<\/p>\n
