{"id":1546,"date":"2014-05-01T06:15:00","date_gmt":"2014-05-01T06:15:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/stockholm.diamondleague.com\/2014\/05\/01\/i-love-sweden\/"},"modified":"2014-05-01T06:15:00","modified_gmt":"2014-05-01T06:15:00","slug":"i-love-sweden","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/stockholm.diamondleague.com\/en\/i-love-sweden\/","title":{"rendered":"\u201dI love Sweden!\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The DN Galan press conference last summer included four high jumpers and one of them was American Olympic silver medallist, Brigetta Barrett, 23.&nbsp; She concluded the press conference with a completely spontaneous acapella rendition of \u201dI am coming home\u201d for the assembled journalists. Later it became clear that the song\u2019s title was more than just words for Brigetta who genuinely enjoyed her first visit to Stockholm.<br \/><em>\u2013 If I could train anywhere in the world, I would choose Sweden. I love Sweden! It is so beautiful and the people are fantastic! Brigetta proclaimed.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u2028Speaker at the opening ceremony for DN Galan Youth<\/strong> <br \/>She came to Stockholm direct from the World Championships in Moscow where she took silver with a 2.00m jump matching her position at the 2012 London Olympics. It did not go so well at DN Galan \u2013 she finished sixth with 1.90m \u2013 but this did not alter her ever positive attitude to all and sundry. Two days later she was back in the Stockholm Olympic Stadium for DN Galan Youth where she delivered an engaging opening ceremony speech for the young athletes.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p><strong>\u201dFor Once In My Life\u201d\u2028<\/strong><br \/>Last year Brigetta won the US Championships with a personal best jump of 2.04m and competed at four Diamond League meetings. Monaco was her Diamond League highlight when she made a first time clearance at seven heights in a row finishing with 2.01 and then went on to attempt 2.06. Later that evening she stepped back under the spotlight and performed Stevie Wonder\u2019s \u201dFor Once In My Life\u201d together with a backing group.
