All three broke the previous 32 year-old stadium record. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Valerie over 20 meters<\/strong><br \/>The newly-crowned Olympic champion in shot put, Valerie Adams, didn&#8217;t want to be outdone and won with a new stadium record of 20.26. A throw of that distance brought her a diamond to take back with her to her native New Zealand. &quot;The goal today was to win. That&#8217;s always the goal. After all the drama of the last seven days, it was nice to come back and I&#8217;m really happy with the win.&quot;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Revenge for Hoffa<\/strong><br \/>In the men&#8217;s shot put, veteran Reese Hoffa took the top spot on the podium. 21.24 was enough to defeat the Olympic champion Tomasz Majewski. &quot;I&#8217;m very happy! I know that Tomasz is in great form and to beat the Olympic champion is always great,&quot; says Hoffa. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Finnish javelin thrower, Tero Pitk\u00e4m\u00e4ki proved that Finland is always a nation to be counted on when it comes to javelin.
