The American ran the fastest time in the world in four years in last year’s World Championship final and is now just 0.12 seconds away from Florence Griffith-Joyner’s “impossible” world record. At Stockholm Olympic Stadium, she will face, among others, Sweden’s European Championship hopeful Julia Henriksson and the highly accomplished Dina Asher-Smith.

“Competing in an arena with so much history makes BAUHAUS-galan in Stockholm a special competition for me. It will be my first competition in Sweden, so I’m looking forward to experiencing the atmosphere in such a historic stadium,” says Jefferson-Wooden.

Amerikanskan är bara 24 år gammal, och har redan hunnit med fem VM-guld och ett OS-guld i karriären. Julia Henriksson is preparing for a new European Championship summer. Most recently, in Rome 2024, she finished sixth in the final. Henriksson is just 0.03 seconds away from Linda Haglund’s 46-year-old Swedish record, and perhaps it will fall in Stockholm.

Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith, well known to Swedish fans, will also line up. She is one of the most decorated sprinters in the world and won World Championship gold in the 200 meters in Doha 2019. She equaled her own British record in the 60 meters during the semifinals of the World Indoor Championships this past winter with 7.03, and holds national records in the 60, 100, and 200 meters. Asher-Smith finished second in Stockholm last year behind Julien Alfred.

Also worth noting in the start list is Jacious Sears, who was part of the same relay team as Jefferson-Wooden that won World Championship gold in the 4×100 meters in Tokyo. Sears also claimed silver at the World Indoor Championships this past winter and has a strong personal best of 10.77 in the 100 meters from 2024.

[38
["post-3521","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-stockholm-en
["GET
