The world number one, number two, number three, and number four in women's shot put are all coming to the BAUHAUS-gala. There they will be up against two of Sweden's greatest of all time.
With a throw of 20.43, Chase Jackson, then Ealey, clinched gold at the World Championships in Budapest last summer. With that, she did exactly what the legend Valerie Adams did and defended her gold.
Chase's Diamond League season started with a third place in China but then continued with two consecutive victories. With 20.03 as her best this year, she ranks fourth on the world's best list for the year.
The best is Canadian Sarah Mitton. She won silver in Budapest but gold this winter in Glasgow. Her throw of 20.68 is the second best this decade; only Jacksons 20.76 from last year has been longer.
As the icing on the cake, Dutchwoman Jessica Schilder and German Yemisi Ogunleye will also be present, ranking second and third this year.
For the Swedish part, both Fanny Roos and Sara Lennman will compete. Roos has already surpassed the Olympic standard, and Lennman started the season by making the third-best throw ever by a Swede.
The shot put event has the potential to be something special and could provide us with answers on how the Olympic final will end.
