Audience favorite Almgren back at Stockholm Olympic Stadium

Swedish athletics star Andreas Almgren is ready for BAUHAUS-galan on June 7, 2026, one of the year’s big highlights on the Wanda Diamond League tour. Almgren, who most recently set a European record, will compete in the 1500 meters – a race that is expected to be absolutely world class and will be a unique chance for the audience to see him compete on home turf.

– I am very happy to run the 1500 meters at BAUHAUS-galan! It will be an important part of the
build-up to the European Championships and it will be fun to once again test yourself against the world elite at Stockholm Olympic Stadium. It will be an awesome race that you don’t want to miss, says Andreas Almgren.

A world star back where it all began

For the organizer, Almgren’s start is both a crowd boost and a symbol of the strength of Swedish athletics right now.

– Andreas doesn’t compete often in Sweden, so this is truly a unique chance for the audience to see him live at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. He is a crowd favorite who always delivers when it counts, and we are proud to welcome him back to BAUHAUS-galan – one of the biggest competitions in the Diamond League series, Jan Kowalski, Meeting Director, BAUHAUS-galan.

BAUHAUS-galan is known for its unique atmosphere at the classic Stockholm Olympic Stadium, where Swedish athletics has repeatedly made history.

In the latest audience survey conducted by swedish Upplevelseinstitutet, BAUHAUS-galan
received the highest rating of all events in Sweden since 2017, with a Customer Satisfaction
Index (KSI) of 89 – proof that BAUHAUS-galan continues to be something truly special for both the audience and the athletes.
