Khaddi Sagnia showed at the World Indoor Championships that she is truly back, finishing just two centimeters from a medal. Now she is set for a comeback at BAUHAUS-galan after missing the last three Diamond League meets in Stockholm. There, she will face seven of the eight highest-ranked athletes in the world right now – including World Indoor champion Agate de Sousa.
“I love jumping in tough competition at BAUHAUS-galan. There’s nothing that beats a full Stockholm Olympic Stadium and the atmosphere there. I’m really looking forward to competing,” says Sagnia.
At the World Indoor Championships, Khaddi Sagnia surprised many by finishing fourth with 6.78 meters – just two centimeters from bronze. After a long period of injury problems, Sagnia switched take-off leg last year, and is now approaching the results she achieved at her peak in 2022. That was also the last season she competed at BAUHAUS-galan. It will also be a long-awaited return to the Diamond League series – her last meet was in China in spring 2024.
Sagnia and Maja Åskag will face a field of absolute world class. Seven of the eight highest-ranked jumpers in the world are coming to Stockholm.
One of them is Agate de Sousa, who just secured the first world title of her career by winning gold at the World Indoor Championships with a best jump of 6.92 meters. The Portuguese athlete leads the world this year with 6.97 and is currently at a level she hasn’t reached since 2023. She will be a strong gold contender at the European Championships in Birmingham in August.
Also confirmed is World Indoor silver medalist Larissa Iapichino. The Italian has two overall Diamond League titles and finished second at her first BAUHAUS-galan in 2025 in a high-quality competition.
The most decorated athlete in the field is Malaika Mihambo, with Olympic gold and two World Championship titles to her name. In 2021, she jumped over seven meters at Stockholm Stadium and is a familiar name to the home crowd.
