Another victory for Bolt – Swede Moa Hjelmer fast at 400 m

Usain Bolt won in Oslo for the second straight year when he beat countryman Asafa Powell at 100 m on Thursday night, 9.79 against 9.85, in front of an ecstatic crowd. The Swedish highlight was Moa Hjelmer who made her second best time at 400 m, only 0.4 seconds from her Swedish record.

The safe 9.79 win in the men’s 100 m combined with a new meeting record were just
the icing on the cake for Bolt at his first Bislett Games 100 m start (last year he won the 200), beating
opponent Asafa Powell just like back in Rome.
– I just want to run faster than him, Bolt stated yesterday.
And yes, he did.
– I was slow at the start but that’s normal, I usually come from the back to win my races. Asafa is always a 9.8 runner so it’s good to have someone to push me", Bolt said after the race.

Second fastest ever for Moa Hjelmer
Swede Moa Hjelmer, 21, made it to the semifinal in both the World Champs in Daegu last year and the World Indoors in Istanbul in March where she set a national indoor record of 52.29. Oslo Diamond League was her first race for the summer and she was happy with a 6th place at 51.99 in her Diamond League debut.
– With such a good answer I will probably not race at 400m until the European Championships in the end of June and instead work on my speed att 200m, said Moa who take a silver medal at that distance at the U23 European Championships 2011.Results
