Asher-Smith and Neita lead the 100m starting field at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium

An already strong 100m starting field at BAUHAUS-galan on June 15 is now being further strengthened. Experienced Britons Dina Asher-Smith and Daryll Neita will join Olympic champion Julian Alfred and Julia Henriksson at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium. Both have good records in Stockholm before.

Dina Asher-Smith, ranked third in the world and one of Britain’s most successful athletics of all time, is back in Stockholm where she has previously delivered world times. The reigning European champion has competed several times at BAUHAUS-galan, and won both 2019 and 2022.

Her national team colleague Daryll Neita, sixth in the world rankings in the 100m – fourth at double the distance, has also impressed greatly in Stockholm, and won here in 2023 just ahead of Asher-Smith.

Neita belongs to the same training group as Sweden’s new sprint star Julia Henriksson – both are trained by Italian Marco Airale in Padova. At the BAUHAUS gala, they will face each other in what could be one of the most interesting sprint duels of the summer seen from Swedish eyes.

Olympic champion Julian Alfred and Julia Henriksson are already ready to start at BAUHAUS-galan on June 15.
