Four months ago Renaud Lavillenie cleared 6.16 in Donetsk which is the highest jump ever indoors or out and now he is aiming for the stadium record at DN Galan on 21 August. In 1989 Radion Gataullin jumped 5.95 in Stockholm, which still stands as the stadium record. There is a big chance, therefore, that the charismatic Frenchman, Lavillenie will leave the arena with a diamond on 21 August.
– Following my World Record I’m inspired to continue jumping as high as possible all through the outdoor season. I’m aiming for a world best result at DN Galan and I want to be the first over 6 metres in Stockholm Olympic Stadium, says Lavillenie.
The pole vault is a spectacular event on the athletics circuit and with the appearance of Renaud Lavillenie, Stockholm athletics enthusiasts have the opportunity to see one of the global sport’s most exciting stars.
