
International highlights for DN Galan
The three European medallists will compete in the men’s javelin and champion Antti Ruuskanen from Finland will be keen to repeat his victory over compatriot, Tero Pitkämäki, and Czech silver medallist and reigning World champion, Vítezslav Vesely. Current world leader Ihab Abdelrahman is also in the field. The Egyptian tops this year’s statistics with a throw of 89.21 metres.

In the women’s high jump the three European medallists, Ruth Beitia, Spain, Maria Kuchina, Russia, and Ana Simic, Croatia, will be local favourite, Emma Green’s main opposition.
The women’s 100m hurdles will see Americans, Dawn Harper Nelson, and Queen Harrison, currently first and second in the world this year, attack Gail Dever’s stadium record of 12.42. They are joined in the quest by Olympic champion, Sally Pearson from Australia.
The men will run 400m hurdles and this race includes the three fastest in the world this year, Javier Culson from Puerto Rico, Michael Tinsley from USA and South African, Cornel Fredricks. Hurdles legend, Felix Sanchez from Dominican Republic will also be in Stockholm. Two Olympic and two World championship golds top his medal collection from a long and successful career.
