Jenn Suhr looking for a stadium record at DN Galan

Efter Olympic silver in Beijin 2008, American pole-vaulter, Jennifer Suhr, 30, took the gold in London after an exciting final where second placed Yarisley Silva from Cuba reached the same height. Both athletes are coming to DN Galan this Friday. Photo: Deca Text & Bild

The Olympic pole-vault final reached 4.75 with four vaulters attempting the height and two succeeding. The Cuban athlete equalled her national record by jumping 4.75; a record she herself set at the Pan American Games last year. Neither athlete managed 4.80 but with one less foul than Silva, the gold went to Suhr.

Jennifer Suhr is looking for victory at DN-Galan also. It will be her fourth time to compete at the Stocholm meet having come third in 2006 (4.52), seventh in 2007 (4.40) and third in 2011 (4.64). The Stadium record is 4.85 and the scene is set for a new record on Friday. Suhr is the second highest pole-vaulter ever with a personal best of 4.92 from 2008. Her highest this year is 4.82.

Six of the seven best from the London Olympics will be competing at DN Galan so expect a spectacular pole-vault competition in Stockholm.
