It was in Prague, on a golden Friday in March this year when Michel Tornéus reached a milestone in his already successful long jump career with his victory at the European Indoor Championships. Stockholm BAUHAUS Athletics is now proud to announce that Michel will compete at the IAAF Diamond League meeting in Stockholm Olympic Stadium on 30 July.

Stockholm’s IAAF Diamond League meeting is entering into an exciting partnership with BAUHAUS, which means that, for the first time since 1967 the competition will change its name from DN Galan and will now be known as Stockholm BAUHAUS Athletics.
DN Galan 2015 event schedule
DN Galan IAAF Diamond League meeting will take place on Thursday 30 July and the event schedule for the complete Diamond League series has just been announced. Amongst other events DN Galan will be staging a men’s long jump for top Swede, Michel Tornéus, and a women’s 3000m or 5000m which can include European 5000m Champion, Meraf Bahta.
World lead in 5000m – Third DN Galan 200m victory for Allyson Felix
12.832 spectators attended the 48th edition of DN Galan at Stockholm Olympic Stadium, which began with sunshine and 19 degrees celcius. The temperature then dropped but that did not prevent a new world lead of 12:54.83 in the 5000m by Ethiopia’s Muktar Edris. Michel Tornéus was the most successful Swede with 8.03m and a third place in the long jump while 200m winner, Allyson Felix and young Swedish sprinter, Irene Ekelund were the favourites with the autograph hunters.

World Junior medallist Almgren to face the best in the world at DN Galan
Newly crowned Swedish 800m champion, Andreas Almgren, who was a surprise bronze medal winner last week at the World Junior Championships in Eugene, USA, is confirmed to run at DN Galan on 21 August. The opposition will be as tough as they come – this year’s two fastest over 800m, Nijel Amos from Botswana and France’s Pierre-Ambroise Bosse will be in Stockholm to battle for victory at the 11th Diamond League meeting of the 2014 circuit.
18 newly crowned continental Champions will compete at DN Galan on Thursday
Ten European Champions from last week’s competition in Zürich will compete in Stockholm Olympic Stadium on Thursday 21 August – five men and five women, including Sweden’s Meraf Bahta who won the 5000m. Probably the biggest name is the world pole vault record holder, Renaud Lavillenie from France.
