World’s best go head-to-head at DN Galan
Swedish-based Abeba Aregawi, number one in the world at 1500 m this year, is now set to meet the world number two at the upcoming DN Galan on 17 August.
Rudisha less than a second from the world record in NY
800 m world champion and world record holder David Rudisha made the number one performance at New York Diamond League on 9 June when he ran 1:41.78 – the fastest time ever recorded in the USA and the ninth-best mark of all time. And Rudisha believes he has more in the tank.
Another victory for Bolt – Swede Moa Hjelmer fast at 400 m
Usain Bolt won in Oslo for the second straight year when he beat countryman Asafa Powell at 100 m on Thursday night, 9.79 against 9.85, in front of an ecstatic crowd. The Swedish highlight was Moa Hjelmer who made her second best time at 400 m, only 0.4 seconds from her Swedish record.
Bolt won in Rome but Abeba Aregawi was the big surprise
Usain Bolt was the main attraction in Rome Diamond League when he won the 100 m in a world leading 9.76. But 1500 m winner Abeba Aregawi was the big surprise when she smashed her PB to a sensational meeting record and a new world seasonal best.
