The International Association of Athletics Federations and the Diamond League AG are pleased to announce the 2013 Meeting Calendar for the Samsung Diamond League, the premier series of invitational track and field meetings in the world.
Anders Tallgren new Meeting Director for DN Galan
Anders Tallgren has been appointed new Meeting Director for DN Galan, and has alreadysigned up several people with vast experience of organizing international athletics meetings. Amongst others Ulf Saletti who is Athletes’ Liaison manager. – We regret that Rajne Söderberg has chosen to leave us, but we are glad to have appointedsuch a strong new management team for the DN Galan and our other meetings. We feelconfident that DN Galan will continue to be one of the top meetings in the world, says JanKowalski, chairman of the board. DN Galan on the 6 of August was the “Top Performance of 2010”
Universal Sports, the USA based sport channel, recently published its list of the world’s leading sporting events during 2010. With both the Winter Olympics in Vancouver and Football World Cup in South Africa taking place the competition was tough. However, according to Universal Sports Channel analysis, the 100m race at DN Galan on the 6 of August was the “Top Performance of 2010”.
A revenge meeting in the women´s long jump
The women’s long jump at DN Galan Friday, August 6 at Stockholm Olympic Stadium looks like a revenge meeting between European Champion Ineta Radevica, Latvia and Naide Gomes, Portugal. Both jumped 6.92 in Barcelona and may threaten Galina Tjistiakovas 21 year old Stadium record 7.05.
