Kim has displayed a consistantly high level all summer with seven events over 80 metres.  On 4 July he won  a sensational Diamond League victory in Lausanne beating a number of the world’s elite.  A feat he could well achieve at the Moscow world Championships!

– It’s great that DN Galan add men’s javelin as an extra event! It’s always a pleasure to compete i front of my home crowd in Stockholm and the Swedish team will do all we can to beat the Finns, says Kim who compets for Bålsta IK, north of Stockholm.

At ”Pre-Finnkamp, which takes places two weeks before the real event, Kim Amb, Gabriel Wallin plus one other Swede wil meet three world class Finns in an informel javelin match between the World Championships and the traditional Sweden-Finland match. So all should be in top shape!
The three javelin throwers representing  Finland in their what can be considered their national sport are Teemu Wirkkala 5th in the Beijing Olympics with a personal best of 87.23, Ari Mannio bronze medallist at last years European Championship and Sampo Lehtola who has thrown 83.77.

Kim and Gabriel will provide strong opposition for the Finns, since Gabriel has also thrown a new personal best this year with 83.24!

DN Galan 2013 will be a good evening for all throwing fans as Mens Discus and Womens Shot put and Javelin will also be on the programme – all with Diamond League status.
