Twelve World Champions will compete at DN Galan

The IAAF World Championships came to a close last Sunday and many of the newly crowned World Champions will compete at DN Galan. Sweden’s own World Champion at 1500m, Abeba Aregawi will run 800m and face Eunice Sum of Kenya who won that event in Moscow with a personal best. DN Galan is also delighted to announce the participation of  the winner of the men’s 1500m, Kenyan, Asbel Kiprop who crossed the finish line a half second in front of the rest of the field.  The women’s javelin was won by Christine Obergföll from Germany who threw a world-leading 69.05. Swedish young talent, Sofi Flink, finished in 10th place after breaking the Swedish record to reach the final. Both Obergföll and Flink will be at Stockholm Stadium on Thursday which also happens to be the German’s birthday.

DN Galan is certainly hosting a starstudded field!

– It is fantastic to be able to present so many World Champions and medallists from Moscow.  It bodes well for an exciting competition including some interesting grudge matches, predicted DN Galan’s Head of Operations, Anders Tallgren.
