“When I get home, it will be a huge celebration with four million people!”

Shot-putter Valerie Adams of New Zealand comes to DN Galan as a double Olympic champion and after competing at DN Galan Big Shot in the center of Stockholm in the past, she will be now making her first appearance in Stockholm's Olympic Stadium. Photo: Deca Text & Bild

– My goal is to improve the stadium record of 19.93! It should be great fun and I’m really looking forward to DN Galan! I’ve had a great season so far and I’m planning on throwing far in the remaining Diamond League competitions, says Valerie.

The newly-crowned Olympic champion says that she’s speechless after the London experience. "It was incredibly cool to win and with 80,000 screaming people in the stands! But it will be nice to get back home to New Zealand after the season. I’ve been in Europe since March and when I get home, there’s going to be a huge celebration with four million people and 60 million sheep!
