The list of heavy Norwegian profiles at BAUHAUS-galan on June 15 is being filled. Narve Gilje Nordås, who won here last year and was in the Olympic final, is ready for 1,500 meters. Filip Ingebrigtsen, who has achieved many international successes in his career, is ready for 5,000 meters.
Narve Gilje Nordås is in an interesting duel with, among others, Samuel Pihlström, the new Swedish record holder in 1,500 meters. He took his first Diamond League victory at BAUHAUS-galan in 2024, then in 3,000 meters, and is now the clear second in Norway in the middle distance behind Jakob Ingebrigtsen.
He has a World Championship bronze from 2023 and a seventh place at the 2024 Olympics and is ranked seventh in the world in the distance.
“Winning in Stockholm last year was big for me. It will be fun to come back and hopefully be able to give the crowd a good race. I feel in better and better shape and have a good feeling for the competition,” says Nordås.
Filip Ingebrigtsen has a long and successful career behind him with European Championship gold in 2016, World Championship bronze in 2017 and many advanced placings in the Diamond League.
Nowadays, the Norwegian runs dual roles as an elite runner and coach for his younger brother Jakob Ingebrigtsen. On June 15, he will run 5,000 meters at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium, among others against Andreas Almgren, whom he has faced several times.
