BAUHAUS-galan and Wanda Diamond League visit Täby Centrum

Täby Centrum will be the focus of world athletics on June 14 when the international athletics series Wanda Diamond League visits the municipality with women’s pole vault.

BAUHAUS-galan received an extra Diamond League event in 2025 in addition to the 14 that each organizer has. The fifteenth event is women’s pole vault. The event is carried out in the square outside Westfield Täby Centrum.

This is the first time Täby has hosted such a major international sports event.

– Welcoming the world’s best female pole vaulter to Täby is an honor and something very special. It’s great for the people of Täby to be able to take part in such an event in their own town, says Carl Henrik Svenson (M), Chairman of the Täby Culture and Leisure Committee.

Täby IS is one of the member associations in the organization of BAUHAUS-galan and has since 2021 organized Täby Stavhoppsgala. A competition with world-class pole vaulters. It has also served as a qualifying competition for BAUHAUS-galan, where the winner has received a place at the prestigious competition at Stockholm Olympic Stadium.

This year, the women’s pole vault competition in Täby will be upgraded to a Diamond League “City Event”. At the same time, a men’s Nordic walking competition will be held on a parallel track. The winner of the male competition will “as usual” get a place at BAUHAUS-galan at the Stadium on June 15.

– June 14 will be one of the best pole vaulting days in the world in 2025. “We are extremely proud to be able to present a Diamond League competition in the heart of Täby. This will be a fantastic opportunity for athletics fans to experience world-class athletics up close, says Jan Kowalski, Meeting Director BAUHAUS-galan.

– We have dreamed of having the world’s best pole vaulters since we started Täby Stavhoppsgala four years ago. The fact that Täby is hosting the Diamond League circus’s third city event, next to the world cities Lausanne and Zurich, still feels a bit dizzying. We are looking forward to offering jumpers and spectators a high-class setting, says Carl-Johan Alm, initiator of Täby Stavhoppsgala.
