In-form ƅskag faces the world elite in Stockholm

Maja ƅskag has opened the 2025 outdoor season strongly. Now she gets the chance to prove herself in her new hometown against some of the world’s top long jumpers at BAUHAUS-galan on June 15.

Maja ƅskag, two-time junior world champion in triple jump and long jump in 2021, is back in good shape after a tough 2024. Last winter, ƅskag, who recently moved from Eskilstuna to

Stockholm, came fifth at the indoor World Championships, and outdoors she has done over 14 meters in triple jump and 6.73 in long jump – her second best result of her career.

Now she will face, among others, Malaika Mihambo, Tara Davis-Woodhall, Larissa Iapichino in a star-studded starting field in long jump at the BAUHAUS gala at the Stockholm stadium – where ƅskag has competed many times. Two years ago, she was two centimeters away from Carolina Klüft’s Swedish record in the triple jump at Finnkampen. So it’s an arena where ƅskag thrives.

ā€œGetting the chance to compete against some of the world’s top long jumpers on home soil again feels fantastic. The BAUHAUS gala is one of the absolute highlights of the year and I hope I can leave with a good result,ā€ says ƅskag.
