The world’s best high jumpers to the Stockholm Olympic Stadium

There will be Olympic gold and world record status June 15 when the Ukrainian, who has won everything this decade and holds the world record, Yaroslava Mahuchikh, comes to BAUHAUS-galan. She will face her high jump rival Nicola Olyslagers from Australia and her compatriot, Eleanor Patterson.

The world’s best high jumpers will compete against each other at BAUHAUS-galan this summer. At the center is the world record holder in high jump, Yaroslava Mahuchikh. She has won Olympic gold, World Championship gold and this past summer also set the world record when she jumped 2.10 m at the Diamond League competition in Paris.

She has grown to become a leading figure in the Ukrainian struggle for freedom. She has condemned Russia on several occasions and raised money for the Ukrainian army. On June 15, she will return to Stockholm, a place where she has jumped at several times before.

– I love Stockholm with the very friendly and supportive spectators. With Nicola and Eleanor in the same competition, it will be a good competition and we will trigger each other to jump high. If the conditions are good, I hope to break the stadium record, says Yaroslava Mahuchikh.

Mahuchikh will face the toughest possible opposition at the competition in Stockholm. The two Australians, Olympic silver medalist Nicola Olyslagers and bronze medalist Eleanor Patterson, will also be at the Stockholm Olympic Stadium.

– I am very happy to be jumping in Stockholm. I have jumped personal bests there before. I hope to have a good competition and challenge the stadium record, says Nicola Olyslagers.

The Australian, Nicola Olyslagers, has two Olympic silver medals and is coming off an indoor season where she defended her Indoor World Championship gold. At the IWC, her compatriot Eleanor Patterson was second and Mahuchikh took bronze. Patterson is also the most recent to have beaten Mahuchikh in an outdoor championship final, which she did at the 2022 World Championships.

When the Diamond League made its season premiere in Xiamen, China, this weekend it was Mahuchikh who was the sharpest and won at 1.97 m ahead of Patterson which placed second and Olyslagers third.

This summer the world record holder and her challenger will meet in the high jump curve at the Stadium. A place that has experienced legendary high jump competitions before. The stadium record is held by Blanca Vlasic at 2.07 m.
